After Elton John and Bernie Taupin won a Golden Globe for best original song for “ Love Me Again” at the 2020 Golden Globes,star Taron Egerton walked away with the award for best performance by an actor in a motion picture -- musical or comedy. “I’m so honored to be nominated alongside legitimate icons and also Roman [Griffin Davis], who is an incredible kid,” Egerton, who beat out stiff competition for the award.
Naturally, Egerton thanked Elton for allowing him the honor of portraying him onscreen. “To Elton John -- thank you for the music, for living a life less ordinary and for being my friend,” Egerton said.
