Tanner Harris was named the new head football coach at Houston County on Tuesday.
DAVID MUNDEE Tanner Harris is returning home and donning the Houston County Lions apparel once again.
“Houston County has always been home,” Harris said in a Dothan Eagle interview Tuesday night. “When dad was there the first time , it was where I was born up to 4 years old. I got to have my first teaching job there for two years , again working alongside dad, and I also coached my brother , so there are a lot of memories there. It’s always been home.”
After spending the 2020 and 2021 seasons at Houston County working under his dad, Harris moved to Daleville as head softball coach and assistant football coach. He spent one year with the Warhawks before being hired in his three roles at Brilliant. “Our goal as a team is to be consistently in the playoffs and win playoff games and get out of this lull of up and down.”
