Max Verstappen will start the 2022 Japanese Grand Prix from pole position.
Friday's running had been heavily hampered by rain, but the weather gods smiled on the Suzuki Circuit on Saturday. Both the third practice session and qualifying took place in dry conditions, with Verstappen coming out on top. "It was pretty incredible to drive here again, especially in qualifying on low fuel," Verstappen said after the session."These cars really come alive in the first sector! Very happy to be on pole, but in general, just super happy to be back here!"
