Takealot opens Durban distribution centre

Takealot says the move will enable faster and more efficient deliveries to customers living in KwaZulu-Natal.

South African e-commerce giant Takealot officially opened its Durban distribution centre in the Brickworks Industrial Park on 20 September 2024, enabling faster delivery times for customers in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Durban distribution centre brings the number of regional Takealot distribution centres to three, with the other two in Cape Town and Johannesburg. “The opening of our new Durban Distribution Centre is an investment in the local economy of KwaZulu-Natal,” said Zietsman. According to Takealot, the employment opportunities created by the facility’s launch will span various sectors, including warehouse operations, logistics, and collaborations with local delivery services.
