Absa's Mooi Street office is being sold by way of public tender as the bank downscales its physical presence in favour of hybrid work models.

The"Absa Towers East" building in downtown Johannesburg, in the shadow of the bank's high-rise headquarters that forms part of the city's iconic skyline, has been put to public tender.The sale of the property, which consists of five floors of offices, four levels of basement parking, and a total of 16,443m² A-Grade lettable area, is being handled by Broll Auctions and Sales on behalf of Absa.
"Should the client wish to continue to submit an offer on the property, they will be FICA vetted, and proof of funding will be required. Once the offer has been completed, this will be submitted to Absa for their consideration once the tender has closed."Essack expects that offers for the Absa building, which was, until a few months ago, occupied by the bank's workers, will be"around the R80 million mark.
