‘The complainant revealed that he was at a social establishment in Parklands one evening and met three unknown women. They all went to the complainant’s home, and whilst asleep, the women stole the property and left the following morning, without waking the complainant.’ After interviewing the complainant and viewing security footage from the establishment, informers were activated, and the women were traced to the bed and breakfast. The suspects, aged 23, 24, 28 and 29, were arrested and appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on 8 May.
The group is also linked to three other similar cases using the same modus operandi. They were subsequently charged with theft and possession of presumed stolen property. Captain Adriana Chandler, of Table View SAPS, says the group’s next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
