System EngineerEngineeringPreng

An established organization is seeking a qualified System Engineer (B.Eng/B.Sc Eng) with 4+ years of relevant experience, eligible for PrEng/PrEng Tech registration with ECSA. The role involves applying Systems Engineering principles across the entire system lifecycle, with a preference for candidates with experience in radio astronomy, radar, satellite, or avionics systems. Hands-on experience in integration, test, and verification of complex systems, including RF, digital, and mechanical elements is required. The successful candidate will be involved with model-based systems engineering, the use of CASE tools, and managing baselines. Candidates must be proficient in Systems Engineering Standards and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

A leading organization is actively searching for a highly skilled and experienced System Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc Eng) and a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.

Crucially, the successful applicant must be eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (PrEng Tech) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). This role demands a strong understanding and practical application of systems engineering principles across the entire system lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to implementation, testing, and ultimately, user acceptance. Candidates should be proficient in managing baselines, controlling engineering changes, and adhering to established standards and procedures. A background in the development of complex systems, ideally within the fields of radio astronomy, radar technology, satellite systems, or avionics, is highly advantageous. This includes a deep understanding of RF (Radio Frequency), digital, and mechanical elements and their integration within a unified system. The position requires someone who can seamlessly integrate theory with practical hands-on experience in the integration, test, and verification of intricate systems, demonstrating a tangible ability to apply Systems Engineering principles across diverse projects and at multiple levels of a system's hierarchy. Specifically, experience at all levels up to user systems (L5) is expected. The ability to work within the standards defined by ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and 15289 or equivalent is also very important.\Furthermore, the selected individual will be required to demonstrate a solid understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the ability to effectively utilize Computer-aided Systems Engineering (CASE) tools, such as CORE/GENESYS. Candidates must possess recognized domain knowledge of systems engineering principles, relevant technologies, and software. This knowledge base should be firmly grounded in both theoretical understanding and practical experience in utilizing systems engineering methods, processes, tools, and techniques. The ability to establish and maintain baselines, coupled with expertise in engineering change control, will be critical components of this role. This involves managing system configurations, tracking changes, and ensuring the integrity and traceability of all system components throughout the system lifecycle. The organization values individuals who can effectively communicate complex technical information, work collaboratively within a team environment, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are also crucial qualities for success in this role. The chosen candidate will be involved in many project aspects and therefore excellent communication skills are required. They need to be able to present complex data in easy to digest reports and must have the ability to articulate technical issues. This is a very challenging role.\The successful candidate will be joining a very well respected company and therefore will have the advantage of learning from experts. This opportunity offers a stimulating and rewarding environment for a driven and talented System Engineer looking to advance their career. The company is committed to fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and development. The organization offers an excellent compensation and benefits package. This role offers excellent long term career progression prospects. Applications must be submitted through the appropriate channels to be considered. Please be aware that, due to the high volume of applications received, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. If you have not received a response within fourteen days of submitting your application, please consider your application unsuccessful. However, the company encourages you to regularly check its website for available positions that align with your career aspirations. The organization is constantly expanding its team and will be always looking for talented engineers. The closing date is not specified as the company has not given one
