“I think we could have served the ball better. I think our serve receive was not consistent enough and I think our transition work was not good enough to allow ourselves to have multiple attackers,” said Ganesharatnam.
“We were just not stable enough in our components to have a good match against Virginia Tech,” said Ganesharatnam. “If we would have executed in those aspects, I really think we would have had a good chance to compete against Virginia Tech, but unfortunately our performance was just not good enough today.”
The Hokies found dominance on the defensive end of the court as well, acquiring 11 solo blocks compared to three for Syracuse and 48 total digs for Virginia Tech, Syracuse trailing behind at 31. Across the board, Virginia Tech came out strong and shut out Syracuse from the beginning.
