with split headlights, a chrome insert on the grille, and an aluminum-style skid plate. The profile however is sportier, thanks to the pronounced fenders and rear shoulders, putting more emphasis on the 17-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the inclined rear glass covered by a roof spoiler is Suzuki’s first attempt into the coupe-SUV trend. The model comes equipped with full-width LED taillights, and a rather large aluminum-style skidplate that doubles as a diffuser.
The dual-tone dashboard looks similar to the Baleno but has a slightly more upmarket look with a forged metal-like matte finish and high gloss silver inserts. The centerpiece is the 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment that is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charging pad, an audio system by Arkamys, rear-seat air conditioning vents, six airbags, and an array of connected car features.
The Suzuki Fronx is available with two petrol options. The turbocharged 1.0-liter K-Series Boosterjet engine equipped with mild-hybrid technology produces 99 hp and 148 Nm of torque. It is mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox sending power to the front axle.naturally aspirated 1.2-liter K-Series Dual Jet engine with a start-stop system and no electrical assistance, making 89 hp and 113 Nm of torque.
The model is already available for bookings through the Nexa dealerships in India, with sales starting in April 2023. Suzuki confirmed that the Fronx will be exported to markets outside India, including Africa and Latin America. What we don’t know is if it will become available in Europe, where it could bridge the gap between the Ignis and the Vitara, as a new contestant in the booming B-SUV segment.
