AKRON, Ohio — Police are searching for a dark-colored SUV after it reportedly struck and killed a man crossing a street in the Highland Square neighborhood, then left the scene. Police say the 40-year-old victim was between two buildings on the north side of the 700 block of West Market Street at about 11 p.m. Thursday. The man ran into the street when he was hit by the SUV, police say.
The victim was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. His identity has not been released. Speed does not appear to be a factor, according to police. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
