Suspects behind bars for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in Hanover Park

Increased visibility and intensified crime prevention operations within identified crime hotspots areas of Hanover Park are yielding positive results as police are clamping down on criminals and their criminal activities.

At Rywood Road, Hanover Park the members found a suspect in possession of a 9mm pistol without a serial number and five rounds. The 21-year-old male was arrested for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition. Police investigation is ongoing. At about 17:00 at Lansry Walk, Hanover Park, a 17-year-old male was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a 9mm Vector pistol and 17 rounds. The serial number of the 9mm Vector pistol is still intact. Police investigations into the origin and ownership are in progress.
