A SUSPECTED gas leak resulted in a hotel in Glasgow being evacuated this afternoon.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called following a"suspected chlorine gas leak" at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the city centre.All employees and guests were evacuated and remained outside until 4.35pm, when the all-clear was given by specialists.A SFRS spokesperson said:"We were called at 2.42pm on Friday, July 1, to reports of a suspected chlorine gas leak at a hotel on Cambridge Street, Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised four fire appliances an ariel appliance, and specialist resources to the scene. "The hotel was evacuated as a precaution and firefighters made the area safe before guests were allowed to return.
