Happening overnight: One suspect was shot by an officer and four others are in custody after a chase ended in an officer-involved shooting in southwest Houston early Monday, police say.
According to J. Jones with HPD, officers spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen shortly around midnight on Chimney Rock Road. They attempted to pull the vehicle over but failed to stop.
After a brief pursuit, police said the vehicle came to a stop in the 5800 block of Bellaire Boulevard and two of the five suspects ran on foot, one of which was armed with a gun.Paramedics were called to give medical attention to the wounded suspect. He was taken to a hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The second suspect who attempted to run from officers was later detained.
