The assailant who killed eight people at a Texas outlet mall was identified by authorities Sunday as a 33\u002Dyear\u002Dold man who had been staying at a nearby motel.
Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd said seven people, including the shooter, died at the scene. Two other people died at hospitals.
“The officer engaged the suspect and neutralized the threat. He then called for emergency personnel,” the post said. “Such an attack is too shocking to be so familiar.
