Suspect in expensive Peace Bridge damage arrested, charged yyc
Officers were called to the Peace Bridge on Sunday around 4 a.m. for reports that a man was. When police arrived, about 70 glass panes had been shattered and the suspect evaded arrest.
In a news release Wednesday, Calgary police said they were investigating a separate incident of vandalism to the bridge that occurred on June 18 around 1:10 a.m., in which a single glass panel was broken. Through their investigation of the destruction on Sunday, officers believe theBrian Douglas Jensen, 58, has been arrested and charged in relation to the two incidents, according to Calgary police.
Jensen is charged with two counts each of mischief to property over $5,000, disturbing the peace, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breaches of a conditional sentence order and a bylaw infraction for unlawful disposal of waste in a park.
