A suspect hijacked a Muni bus in San Francisco on Friday night, driving over a mile through the Mission District and crashing into multiple cars before being taken into custody, police said.
The hijacking happened before 8 p.m. at Cortland Avenue and Mission Street. No passengers were on the bus at the time.
The suspect assaulted the driver, took control of the bus, and struck multiple vehicles before stopping at 19th and Guerrero Streets, where officers arrested the suspect, police said. An ambulance was called for the bus driver and the driver of another vehicle, but neither appeared seriously injured.
