Suspect arrested in SindisoMagaqa murder case
Police have confirmed the arrest of a senior Harry Gwala district official in connection with Sindiso Magaqa’s murder.
A senior official at the Harry Gwala district, KwaZulu-Natal, has been arrested in connection with the murder of Sindiso Magaqa, who was a PR councillor at Umzimkhulu Local Municipality in the province. Bayede News, an IsiZulu publication based in the province, reports that the district official is the mayor of Harry Gwala who is also the chairperson of the province’s Salga, Mluleki Ndobe.
Ndobe’s arrest comes in the wake of him being listed third in the governing ANC’s provincial candidate list for the party’s deployees to the KZN legislature, it was reported.Magaqa was gunned down alongside colleagues Nontsikelelo Mafa and Jabu Msiya and later died due to complications from multiple gunshot wounds.
It was reported that the spokesperson of the Minister of Police Bheki Cele, Reneilwe Serero, confirmed that a senior district official at the Harry Gwala district municipality was arrested.
