OAKLAND — A 35-year-old parolee has been arrested in the sexual assault of a woman Feb. 13 inside an Adams Point building, according to authorities and jail records.
The man had not been formally charged as of mid-day Wednesday. He was arrested Tuesday in Oakland by police and U.S. Marshals. The man was being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of several charges, including kidnapping for robbery, rape, burglary and elder abuse. The victim, whose age has not been released, was assaulted about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 13 inside a restroom in a building in the 200 block of Grand Avenue.Police later released video surveillance of the suspect, but have not yet said how they were able to identify him. He was noted to be wearing distinctive clothing at the time of the attack.
