We need more than vaccines, but even vaccines would be appreciated

Nova Scotia Health says it is working to meet an increased demand for rapid COVID-19 test kits at community distribution sites, but tests are not enough. So, what’s the province’s plan to help us reduce transmission? The Nova Scotia government has clung to a vaccine-only pandemic response, regardless of the evidence that it will take multiple strategies to reduce transmission.As others have pointed out, epidemiologists recommend a vaccine-plus approach for decreasing spread. By employing multiple strategies consecutively, it’s possible to create layers of protection and suppress the virus’ circulation.

People under the age of 50 still can’t book a fourth dose and even immunocompromised adults have to specially apply for access on “compassionate” grounds — a cumbersome requirement.
