There is a ‘significant difference between people’s perceptions and the reality of the climate emergency we’re facing in SA’
Nearly 60% of South Africans who took part in a climate reality barometer survey are optimistic the country will avert a climate crisis in their lifetime.
Just more than 28% feel SA can move from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and that people are more aware of climate dangers than they were historically. The goal of the barometer is to raise greater public awareness of the effects of climate change, to influence transformative business decisions and to better inform policymakers.
