A Surrey woman was unable to get any city help on Wednesday evening after spotting two Dobermans running wild in her neighbourhood.
Chapman said she was a “huge fan of dogs” and went outside to see if she could locate the dogs’ owner. Chapman said she jumped onto her truck, while the two dogs went barking toward the side gate behind which were her dogs. On Thursday, Kim Marosevich, the City of Surrey’s bylaw services manager, said it was correct that the RCMP would not dispatch officers to deal with wandering dogs. Marosevich also confirmed that after 4:30 p.m. all calls made to the city’s bylaw complaints centre get forwarded to Surrey Fire and Rescue.
