Insiders confirmed to the Siya crew last week that Mathoho had been training with SuperSport, but another source has confirmed that the experienced defender has not taken the trip to Durban, where Matsatsantsa are currently preparing for the new season with coach Gavin Hunt. Hunt worked with Mathoho at Chiefs and it's unclear at this stage if the club has completely ruled out the possibility of signing the 33-year-old former Bloemfontein Celtic defender.

Mathoho, however, is believed to have also attracted interest from TS Galaxy, while his former coach at Chiefs, Steve Komphela, has not been ruled out to potentially make a move for the player to join him at Moroka Swallows.
