\nThis isn't meant as any disrespect to the news at NYCC that Smallville alum Tom Welling had joined the cast of Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles & Danneel Ackles' Supernatural spinoff prequel The Winchesters as Mary's father and professional hunter, Sam Campbell. But Jensen Ackles was able to pull off the greater headline-grabber with a move that lovers of DC's 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' could appreciate.
