Nintendo has revealed that a Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct will be taking place later this week to show off the upcoming Mario game.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on Friday, October 20. The game features up to four-person multiplayer and features Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi as playable characters. It’s the first new Super Mario Bros. 2D side-scrolling platform since 2012’s New Super Mario Bros. U, which released for the Wii U.
“Classic Mario side-scrolling gameplay is turned on its head with the addition of Wonder Flowers,” reads the game’s description. “These game-changing items trigger spectacular moments you have to see to believe … Witness pipes coming alive, wreak havoc as a giant spiky ball, and see even more unexpected events called Wonder Effects.”
