Sundowns Forward Set To Leave In January?

CAIRO, EGYPT - FEBRUARY 25: Gift Motupa of Mamelodi Sundowns and Yasser Ibrahim of Al Ahly during the CAF Champions League match between Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns at Al Salam Stadium on February 25, 2023 in Cairo, Egypt.

The player in question is Gift Motupa and this is despite signing a one-year contract extension which will see his deal run up to June 2025.The former BidVest Wits striker is believed to be out of the current Sundowns technical team's plans, so in order to play regularly one would understand it may be better for Motupa to look for a new club."As it stands, now the team will give him the chance to leave in January.

"He has just signed a new one-year extension recently which runs until June 2025 so he can't leave as a free agent. Maybe the team needs to cash out on him and that's why they extended his current contract which was expiring in June 2024.
