Sundowns may have already won two major trophies this season but Rulani Mokwena still hurt by their CAF Champions League exit.
The Brazilians were ousted by Esperance de Tunis 2-0 on aggregate, and thus failing to make it to the final.
And while, under Mokwena’s tutelage, Sundowns have already won a double – the DStv Premiership title and the African Football League – the 37-year-old is still hurt by the loss to Esperance. However, Mokwena feels he let the club and everybody surrounded to Sundowns down by failing to win this year’s CAF Champions League.having already secured the titleWell, at least for now since their CAF Champions League wound is still fresh. Sundowns would make history in PSL football if they are to finish the season unbeaten.
“So, I don’t think it will make up for it. We deserved to be in the semi-finals of the Champions League, based on the performance of the semi-final second leg, I think we did enough to give ourselves a chance to be in the final.”
