Summer Game Fest 2023 just wrapped up, and honestly, it was a pretty packed show. The event kicked off with a bang with a new side-scrolling Prince of Persia game, and we got a few more surprises after, including a new side-scrolling Sonic game, a new game from horror legend John Carpenter, a release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 , and an extended trailer and release window for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth .
At the show, there were a few expected reveals as well. A new Fortnite trailer teased a season that looks pretty wild, we saw an extended look at Alan Wake II, and we got a trailer with some gory gameplay from Mortal Kombat 1. Since there’s no E3 this year, I was hoping we’d be in for an even bigger show than usual — and it turned out that there were indeed many surprises at the event. Here’s our coverage from the show.
