The community-oriented theatre company is making this gradual transition to ensure a smooth, successful change for the company as well as the communities it serves. Dawson joined the theatre company as an artistic associate in 2020, through Creative Saskatchewan’s business capacity program. After learning from Bernbaum and dramaturge Yvette Nolan for the last two and a half years, he’s confident he’s ready for this next chapter, he said.
Dawson said he intends to uphold the theatre company’s five core values — fun, inclusion, innovation, reciprocity and empathy — while adding his own personal values.
