Budding boxing promoter Nomfundo Malinga wants to take boxing to new heights and preserve her father’s legacy
Malinga, the youngest daughter of South African boxing legend Thulani “Sugar Boy” Malinga, is passionate about the development of boxing, and she wants to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of the fistic sport in South Africa.
Although the reasons for the regulatory body’s decision were not clear, BSA said the suspension followed the presentation to its board of prima facie evidence which showed that Malinga had not complied with the conditions attached to the approval of her licence. The ABU SADC middleweight crown will be contested by local fighter Mapule Ngubane and Monalisa Sibande-Simon from Zimbabwe. As part of my short-term goal, I want to take this opportunity to celebrate my father through this tournament while he’s still alive. He is 67. I’m blessed to still have him around, looking as fresh as he is
For Sugarboy Malinga Promotions to achieve its objectives, Nomfundo has joined forces with her father’s British boxing rival-turned-friend Chris Eubank.
