There are 11 COVID-19 outbreaks in Sudbury at this time including three outbreaks at the Sudbury Jail and one at the hospital

Public Health Sudbury and Districts has reported two new COVID-19 related deaths in the Greater Sudbury area. This brings the total local death count since the pandemic began back in March of 2020 to 175 people.

The summary also indicated that 72 new cases were reported over the past two days. This brings the accumulated total from the past 31 months to 19,039 cases. Of course, the majority of those cases -- 18,967 -- have been resolved. There are only 265 active COVID cases being monitored locally at this time.

The health unit reported there are currently 11 local COVID-19 outbreaks in local long-term care homes, retirement homes and other congregate settings in Sudbury. This includes three active outbreaks at the Sudbury Jail.
