Chloé LaDuchesse’s ‘L’Incendiare de Sudbury’ is one of the entries in Radio-Canada’s Combat National des Livres
Sudbury author Chloé LaDuchesse’s 2022 novel “L’Incendiare de Sudbury” is one of five books to have been chosen for Radio-Canada’s Combat National des Livres.“L’Incendiare de Sudbury,” a French-language contemporary noir crime novel set in Sudbury’s Donovan area, is LaDuchesse’s third book. Her two previous books were poetry collections, one of which was nominated for a Governor General’s Literary Award.
“There's a lot of humor in my book as well,” said LaDuchesse. “It's a very vibrant portrait of the downtown and Donovan.” Radio-Canada journalist Brigitte Noël, who is originally from Sturgeon Falls, chose LaDuchesse’s book as the Ontario entry. She said there are actually very few books about Sudbury, and “they're even more rare when we think about contemporary Sudbury.
