Sudan's RSF promises 'safe passages' out of former Darfur haven city of El-Fasher

Until recently, the Darfur city served as a safe haven and a hub for humanitarian aid. Sudan 's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have announced their willingness to open"safe passages" out of the former haven city of El-Fasher in Darfur, which has been gripped by fighting for weeks.
The paramilitaries called on residents of El-Fasher to"avoid conflict areas and areas likely to be targeted by air forces and not to respond to malicious calls to mobilise residents and drag them into the fires of war". Medical charity Doctors Without Borders on Wednesday said its hospital in North Darfur had received more than 450 people killed and wounded in the fighting since 10 May, but noted that the actual death toll was likely much higher.
