News4JAX obtained a 600-page traffic study for the proposed Chick-fil-A in Oceanway.

Many of the neighbors said they are against a high volume business being built in that space. Nearly two months ago, the Land Use and Zoning Committee decided to order the traffic study before deciding on the rezoning that would allow for a Chick-fil-A to be built. The executive summary of the traffic study said that based on data from six Chick-fil-A locations in Jacksonville, the restaurant is projected to generate:468 trips during the midday peak hour The analysis showed that the addition of projected traffic will have a nominal impact on traffic operations and 2026 build conditions intersections will continue to operate at the same over Levels of Service .
The study also noted that a Signal Warrant Analysis was done for Duval Station Road, Bradley Cove Road, and First Coast High School Driveway, showing that the intersection does not warrant a traffic signal in 2026 Build Conditions with anticipated growth in the area plus the traffic from the proposed Chick-fil-A development.
