Several students suffered minor injuries after a school bus collided head on with a garbage truck in Spanish Fork.Police said approximately 40 students were on the bus Thursday afternoon when the accident occurred at 400 North 630 West at approximately 3 p.m. The truck was heading eastbound when it struck the westbound bus on 400 North.'I heard a bang. A noise. It was loud enough that I knew I had to go look,' said neighbor Lucy Gull.
How they didn't see eachother, it's beyond me but it's an accident,' said Lt. Cory Slaymaker with Spanish Fork PD.Students on a new school bus, presumably with the same soccer team onboard, yelled at FOX 13 News, 'We were in that crash! We survived. We survived.'The crash remains under investigation.This is the third incident within one month involving garbage trucks. A cyclist in Tooele was struck and killed by a garbage truck on Jul. 19.
