Callum Stevens grew up in Bolton, Greater Manchester and was raised by a single parent and the odds were stacked against the aspiring lawyer. Now the student lawyer is closer to his dream and proved the doubters when he accepted a place at Cambridge.

‘That being said, given that the area is less affluent than others, it has issues of crime at what I would suggest is a disproportionate level to the average. ‘The comments were not only disheartening but difficult to overcome as they did not come from a place of animosity, but misinformation. . The company was started by Joe Seddon, who grew up in a single-parent family and went to state school before attending Oxford.
‘Secretly though, I was obsessed. Because the primary hurdle was mindset, I had to work on changing the opinions of others as well as myself. It takes a village to raise a child and a wide support network was vital for me.’
