Tristan Stubbs and opener Abishek Porel delivered rasping half centuries to lead the Delhi Capitals to a total of 208-4 and a stomping victory by 19-runs in their IPL match against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.
Veteran seamer, Ishant Sharma, claimed figures of 3-34 to confirm the victory with three of the first four wickets to fall as Lucknow crashed to 44-4 in just 4.1 overs before being limited to 189-9 thanks to a courageous 58* from Arshad Khan at No 8.
Dynamic opener Jake Fraser-McGurk sliced the second ball of the match to long-on but Porel and Shai Hope added 92 for the second wicket to put the innings back on track before Hope slashed legspinner Ravi Bishnoi to KL Rahul at cover to depart for 38 from 27 balls. The teams were tied on 12 points in fifth and sixth place on the table but this was Delhi’s final group match while the Super Giants have one remaining.
