Latest teaching strikes hit Lincolnshire this week - Do you support the action or not? 🎓
Teachers have gone back out on strike this week following the latest breakdown in pay negotations with the government.
Neil Rustidge, the Lincolnshire representative at the NEU, said: “All of us in the education sector want to teach, we don’t want to strike, but the erosion of our real terms pay conditions has left us with no choice. Striking teachers are asking for an above-inflation pay rise, claiming their real terms pay has “eroded” by 16% since 2010 when considering the rising rate of inflation.
“People are getting more and more angry with the way the government are handling these strikes,” Neil Rustidge added. A Department for Education spokesperson said: “This strike action will see the cancellation of end of term events and important transition days to secondary schools, impacting children and causing more disruption for parents.
