The actress hit the headlines last year when she quit the BBC One dance contest weeks into the 2023 series
Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice has shared a four-word statement about himself as he spoke out on his early exit from the last series with Amanda Abbington.
But before she and her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice were due to return for the contest's Halloween special, it was announced Amanda would be leaving the competition due to 'personal reasons'. Neither have directly spoken out about what happened until now as Giovanni has said it is a "shame" that Amanda left the show early as he feels they could have "gone all the way".
Asked if he is a perfectionist, he agreed but said it comes from a place of "caring". The Italian star said: "I am a perfectionist." He continued: "100%, but it comes from a perspective of caring. Strictly judge Anton Du Beke, who also appeared on the podcast alongside Giovanni to discuss their new BBC travelogue series, said he thought the pair had been “marvellous” and praised Abbington as being "terrific straight away".
