Among the key trends in denim are boot-cut jeans, double-denim and expressive fabric treatments.

“Brat” green may have been the color of the summer thanks to the namesake album by pop sensation Charli XCX, but the street-style set in attendance at the spring 2025 shows duringDenim has long been a symbol of all-American grit, but many are showing off looks that incorporate the workwear fabric in more glamorous ways.

WWD caught two girls twinning in puddle jeans with heart-shaped cutouts, one with a heart-shaped denim bustier top to match. The same jeans were spotted elsewhere, this time worn more casually with a white T-shirt knotted at the waist and a crystal belt for added shine. While it’s clear the wide-leg remains popular, ‘70s boot-cut jeans are an emerging leg shape, especially for men. Pushed most notably by Pharrell Williams, head of menswear at Louis Vuitton, one guy leaned into the Western vibe of his fall collection, wearing his with clip-toe leather boots. As far as washes go, they run the gamut from raw to acid, occasionally collaged all together in one look.

Doubling down on denim continues to trend with eclectic layered separates or matchy-matchy Canadian tuxedos. The latter has been a big hit on the runway over the past few days, popping up at Ralph Lauren, Libertine and Coach. Back on the street, eye-catching denim treatments include prints, corset lacing and embellishment. The ubiquitous fabric was even used for hats and bags, like the one seen here with charms, a major trend in accessories. The possibilities for denim really are limitless.
