The pairing fans never got to see in StrangerThings season 4, Joseph Quinn and Grace Van Dien, reunite in an adorable “lunch break” photo.
Stranger Things season 4’s Grace Van Dien and Joseph Quinn, Chrissy Cunningham and Eddie Munson, respectively, reunite in a sweet new photo. In addition to its unrivaled ensemble, each season of Matt and Ross Duffer’s series has introduced fan-favorite characters —from Barb Holland and Bob Newby to Alexei and Billy Hargrove. Following a nearly three-year hiatus, Stranger Things’ fourth season unveiled a pair of new faces in the leader of the Hellfire Club and Hawkins High’s lead cheerleader.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In “Chapter One: The Hellfire Club,” audiences met Van Dien’s Chrissy Cunningham and Quinn’s Eddie "the Freak" Munson. Suffering from headaches and hallucinations as a target of Vecna, the most popular girl in school sought out “the Freak” for drugs. As opposing ‘80s cliches, a single scene between the two peeled back their layers and led to a short-lived romantic ship.
Following the footsteps of Barb and Bob, Chrissy and Eddie join a group of Stranger Things characters to be killed off in the season they were introduced, with the former never making it past their debut episode—which makes her death all the most devastating.
The Duffer brothers have expressed their regrets about Chrissy’s death in Stranger Things season 4. By the time they realized the character’s potential, her fate had already been sealed. The same could be said for Quinn, whose character has become a pop culture sensation representing the misunderstood outcasts. Although they were only in the show for one season, Eddie and Chrissy won’t soon be forgotten by those that watched them at home and the actors that played them.
