Henry Creel, the telekinetic boy who grows up to become known as 001 under the control of Dr. Brenner , and who evolves into the season four villain Vecna after he is banished away into the Upside Down by Eleven , has also been the Mind Flayer throughout the entire series.

After banishing him to the Upside Down, as was revealed in the, Henry says he wandered through his new home until he came upon the predator he always knew he could be, the mysterious black particles that form into the Mind Flayer, as has been teased in drawings both by a younger Henry and by a targeted Will .
