It's hot out there, but it's not stopping the start of official Arizona Interscholastic Association football practice Monday for 3A-1A schools.

It's time for the small schools, those 3A through 1A, to put on the helmets. That starts Monday, as they begin their season a weak ahead of the big schools with opening games on Aug. 17-19. The big schools begin official practice on July 31.

Extra precautions are being taken by teams as they get going Monday. They might want to make sure there are ice tubs nearby.
