John Dobson lauds the dedicated Stormers supporters as Cape Town Stadium anticipates a full house for the crucial URC North-South derby, with ticket sales already exceeding 45,000.
John Dobson , the head coach of the Stormers , has expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of the team's fans as Cape Town Stadium nears a sellout for the crucial URC North-South derby on Saturday. The Stormers consistently boast the highest attendance figures among South African teams and rank among the top two in the URC . Anticipation for Saturday's match is high, with an expected packed stadium in the majestic backdrop of Table Mountain.
By Thursday, 45,000 tickets had already been sold. This level of enthusiasm mirrors the final home game of the previous year, a thrilling victory against the Sharks, which also saw a complete sellout. 'We sold out for the Sharks game on December 28, and we'll sell out this week. It's about 55,000, and that's great,' Dobson stated. 'We take some pride in the fact that we are the one franchise.' The Cape Town team's devoted fanbase is truly exceptional, especially considering their performance this season. Although the 4-5 Stormers currently occupy the 12th position, they lead the SA Shield, having won two out of three matches against South African rivals. This success contrasts with the misfortunes of the third-placed Bulls, who suffered a loss against the Sharks and only managed a victory against the Lions
