'Does Shapps really think people have not been looking into every possible way of saving money on their bills by now and haven’t come across this one?'

All over the country, people have been worried sick, literally in some cases, about the rocketing costs of their heating and hot water at home.

But it’s okay because the experts at Downing Street have you covered, move over Martin Lewis there’s a new Money Saving Sheriff in town. This week he gave out the genius advice to turn down the boiler flow temperature on your central heating. Gee thanks Grant, guess that’s why you’re the energy secretary, huh!

And it is not as simple as Shapps suggests. It will take longer to heat rooms to the desired temperature and might not get as hot as you want. I am willing to bet, that Rishi and Akshata are not having to contemplate turning down the heating in the Downing Street flat.Nor are they thinking about turning down the heating in their Kensington flat, or their Yorkshire country mansion, complete with gym and swimming poolHow about their home in California? Is Rishi paying someone right now to go around turning all the radiators down to mark three.

With Sunak’s Chancellor, remind who it is this month, oh yes Jeremy Hunt, telling us that the help with energy bills will run out after April and Ofgem telling us that the cap will probably have to rise before it comes down people are looking ahead to next year with dread.
