The Light Blues confirmed the departure of the 43-year-old a couple of days back after a poor start to the campaign with the search well underway by the Ibrox hierarchy for his successor.
Steven Davis has revealed he spoke to Michael Beale on Sunday night in the aftermath of his Rangers sacking.
The Northern Ireland legend is leading an interim management team as the Ibrox hierarchy begin the search for Beale's successor. A host of names have already been mentioned with regards to the vacant position as meetings and shortlists are being formed behind the scenes. Davis and his troops are in Cyprus for their Europa League showdown with Aris Limassol as they bid to make it two from two in the section after victory over Real Betis on matchday one.
