Warriors star Stephen Curry will come off the bench for the third consecutive game.

DENVER — Stephen Curry will come off the bench for the third consecutive game, the team announced Thursday just before tip-off for Game 3 of their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets.

Jordan Poole will start again in Curry’s place, a role he embraced scoring a combined 59 points in his first two playoff games. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney started on Thursday night as the Warriors try to take a 3-0 lead in this first-round series. Curry remains under a minutes restriction as he works his way back from a foot injury that sidelined him for a month, though coach Steve Kerr said earlier in the day that the Warriors superstar’s minutes will be increased.

“I’m feeling more and more like myself in terms of trying to maintain the level of intensity it takes to do things out there on the floor,” Curry said Thursday. “I’m ready to take more minutes on tonight and make them useful.”In Game 1 Saturday, Curry showed some normal signs of rust after a month-long absence as he entered the game midway through the first quarter and played under a minutes restriction.
