'I ... hope that players won't want to leave the club but speculation will always be there,' said the Stellies head coach.
With speculation rife that Stellenbosch FC attacker Jayden Adams is on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season, his coach Steve Barker has questioned why any player would want to leave the club. Adams was part of the Bafana Bafana team that won a bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. He’s rumoured to have already been sold to the Brazilians.
“But I just believe now that we’re a team that has been in semifinals and we have won a cup. Hopefully we can finish strong in the league and go into Africa. If I’m a player, I’d look at that and stay in Stellenbosch because I think we’re doing something special.
