A Status Orange warning for low temperatures will come into effect at 6pm with freezing fog and icy stretches expected
The warning covers Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway and Roscommon.An earlier Orange warning for 19 counties expired at noon, following an extremely cold night, with severe frost and ice and temperatures below -5C.
A separate Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning remains in place for the entire country until midday tomorrow.
