The State witness, who cannot be named to protect his safety, detailed how he was recruited to murder Heerschap.
CAPE TOWN - An alleged gunman who turned State witness in a case against alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, has detailed how he shot and killed Nicolaas Heerschap, the father of a former Hawks officer.
He told the court that one of Modack's co-accused told him if he murdered Heerschap, a"gang boss" would reward him with more jobs, money and bulletproof cars. The State witness then told the court he was driven to Melkbosstrand with three other co-accused on 9 July 2019.
