State of the Currie Cup: Weekend for the predators

It was four wins for all the hosts in round 3 of the Currie Cup, with holders Pumas and Cheetahs staying unbeaten, and the Lions getting on the board, but the Vodacom Bulls and Griffons are still winless.

After three rounds, the Cheetahs still top the league table with a full house of 15 points, one more than the second-placed Pumas. The Sharks move into third spot on 10 points while WP move down a spot although they also have 10 points, but a weaker points’ difference.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s round-four action, the Griffons host the Bulls in Welkom on Friday , before the Cheetahs and the Pumas clash in Bloemfontein . On Saturday, the Lions welcome the Sharks to Ellis Park , with curtain coming down when WP and Griquas lock horns in Cape Town .
